The Helen Ross McNabb Center is a leading provider of mental health and addiction services in Knox County, Tennessee. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Violence Advocate to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Domestic Violence Advocate will work directly with men and women at the FCC Domestic Violence Shelter, providing crisis intervention, support, and advocacy services. This role requires effective communication, active listening, and empathy to ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed
  • Facilitate weekly trauma-informed support groups
  • Work closely with therapeutic service providers to ensure quality care for clients
  • Complete semi-annual continuing education on trauma-informed care and the effects of trauma
  • Answer 24/7 hotline and provide quality care to callers in crisis
  • Participate in state-wide trainings for DV trauma, as applicable
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of shelter
  • Represent HRMC and FCC in a professional manner when interacting with community partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, counseling, child and family studies, or related field
  • 1-2 years working with adults and/or families preferred
  • Experience/knowledge/front line service delivery in domestic violence or other victim services is preferred
  • Experience in case management and trauma-informed care is preferred
  • Ability to effectively coordinate care for male and female victims of domestic violence
  • Ability to present professionally and work within a team to plan, implement, and evaluate trauma-informed care

Salary:

The starting salary for this position is approximately $35,600 per year, based on relevant experience and education, and a reliable vehicle is required for conducting center business.
