Job Summary

As a Sanitation Maintenance Specialist at Hannaford Supermarkets, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our stores. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all areas of the store, including the breakroom, restrooms, and parking lot, are clean and well-maintained. You will also be responsible for performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, including the breakroom and restrooms.
• Sweep and mop all floors daily, and clean up spills throughout your shift.
• Empty all trash and recyclables inside and outside the store.
• Schedule rotation and cleaning of the dairy shelves, and clean the glass dairy and frozen food doors as needed.
• Sweep the parking lot with designated equipment, and shovel and salt sidewalks as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, and communicate any needed repairs to the management team.
• Maintain a quality of performance of all specific duties and responsibilities assigned.

Requirements

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, and a desire to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements, and have a flexible schedule.
• Ability to stand/walk 100% of the time, and frequently reach and lift (mop buckets, spills).
• Ability to handle a variety of cleaning materials/substances, and lift up to 40 lbs. approximately 50% of the time.
• Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.

• Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the internal and external store and property.
• Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the equipment used in the performance of this job function.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
