Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our customers and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the breakroom and all restrooms, ensuring a hygienic environment for all employees.
  • Sweep and damp mop all floors daily, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness.
  • Respond promptly to spills and clean up any messes throughout your shift.
  • Empty all trash inside and outside the store, maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
  • Rotate and clean the dairy shelves, ensuring our products are displayed in a clean and appealing manner.
  • Clean the glass dairy and frozen food doors, maintaining a sparkling appearance.
  • Sweep the parking lot using designated equipment, ensuring a safe and accessible area for customers.
  • Perform minor repairs of equipment and fixtures as needed, demonstrating your problem-solving skills.
  • Shovel and salt sidewalks as required, maintaining a safe and accessible environment for customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and established procedures, upholding our high standards.
  • Maintain company standards and programs for safety, fire prevention, and security, prioritizing the well-being of our employees and customers.
  • Maintain productivity levels at or above company standards, consistently delivering high-quality results.
  • Treat all coworkers with fairness, dignity, and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain good communication with the management team and associates, ensuring seamless collaboration and teamwork.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, consistently delivering a positive experience for our customers.
  • Communicate any needed repairs and/or maintenance work to the management team, ensuring prompt attention to any issues.

Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements, ensuring you are eligible to work in this role.
  • Flexible schedule needed, as you will be required to work varying shifts and hours.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/walk 100% of the time, ensuring you are able to move freely and safely throughout the store.
  • Frequent reaching and lifting (mop buckets, spills), requiring you to be physically capable and agile.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting, ensuring you can navigate the store and perform tasks safely.
  • Ability to handle a variety of cleaning materials/substances, requiring you to be comfortable with different chemicals and equipment.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. approximately 50% of the time, ensuring you can handle heavy objects and equipment.
  • Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly, requiring you to be physically capable and strong.
Preferred Requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the internal and external store and property, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the equipment used in the performance of this job function, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations, ensuring you can perform the duties of the role safely and effectively.
