About the Role:
The Risk Management Specialist plays a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating potential risks that impact the organization. This position is essential in protecting the organization's assets, reputation, and financial stability. The Risk Management Specialist collaborates closely with various departments to develop and execute risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Internal Audit leadership in formulating and executing strategies and processes for identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities across the organization.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management controls and processes and recommend improvements as needed.
- Work with cross-functional teams to establish best practices in risk management and integrate them into business operations.
- Interpret complex data to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas of concern.
- Create and maintain risk registers, assessment reports, and other documentation to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of identified risks and mitigation efforts.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in risk management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including insurers, auditors, and regulatory agencies, providing necessary risk-related information and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
- Offer guidance and training to colleagues on risk management policies, procedures, and practices to enhance awareness and foster a risk-conscious culture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or the equivalent in education and experience.
- Knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex data and identify potential risks.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices related to risk management.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey risk-related information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
