With over 60 years of unwavering experience in the design, construction, and enhancement of nuclear power facilities, we proudly serve as the Architect-Engineer and/or constructor of record for 52 nuclear units worldwide.

Role Responsibilities

The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers and designers at our office, focusing on the development of modification packages. Responsibilities include executing complex engineering tasks such as:

  • Preparation of comprehensive packages that encompass specifications, data sheets, calculations, and modifications to existing plant schematics.
  • Providing support for proposals and preparing purchase requisitions.
  • Reviewing vendor documentation and formulating cost estimates, budgets, schedules, and scope of work documents.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with a focus on power systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of electrical systems for power generation facilities or large-scale industrial operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical design specific to nuclear facilities in North America, including both new constructions and modifications of existing plants.
  • Expertise in preparing specifications and sizing calculations for electrical distribution systems.
  • Ability to develop schematic and single-line diagrams for medium and low voltage switchgear and motor control centers.
  • Familiarity with protection and control schemes for medium and low voltage AC auxiliary systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial DC and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
  • Experience in reviewing engineering drawings, including single-line, schematic, wiring diagrams, and physical layout drawings.
  • Two years of experience conducting auxiliary system studies, including short circuit, load flow, coordination, and arc flash studies using ETAP or similar software.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code and IEEE Standards related to electrical distribution systems in plants.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project team members across various disciplines, clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed technical reports, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen and eligible for unescorted access to U.S. nuclear power facilities.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) License in any U.S. state, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states through comity.
  • Two years of experience in preparing modification packages for operational nuclear generating stations in the U.S. utilizing the Standard Nuclear Design Process.
  • Field experience and walk-downs of operational power plants.
  • Experience in the application and configuration of protective relays.
  • Supervisory experience in leading electrical engineers and designers, along with experience in preparing estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems.
