Role Overview: As a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required. In this capacity, you will be responsible for the sophisticated engineering of systems and electrical/instrumentation apparatus linked to the design and establishment of Direct Reduction facilities and innovative technological projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead E/I plant commissioning and startup operations as necessary.
  • Act as the E/I discipline Lead Engineer, providing technical guidance for various projects.
  • Conduct designs and system evaluations through essential Electrical Engineering calculations.
  • Create conceptual designs and relay ideas to designers for the development of E/I schematics.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering and other disciplines to develop Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).
  • Maintain the instrument list associated with the P&IDs.
  • Generate logic drawings from various data sources, ensuring coordination with other project disciplines.
  • Oversee the design and configuration of the Process Control System (DCS), providing detailed specifications for both hardware and software.
  • Ensure that vendors have the necessary information prior to the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
  • Coordinate the E/I design efforts as the Lead Engineer for specific projects, directing the work of assigned engineers and designers.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and QA documents, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and project requirements.
  • Provide technical support for the Aftermarket, Inspections, and Purchasing departments.
  • Analyze vendor-supplied equipment for compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
  • Engage in field assignments to assist with construction, commissioning, and startup activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Autodesk products (AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and processes.
  • Experience with process control systems (DCS/PLC) specification, startup, and troubleshooting.
  • Industrial plant experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the design of E/I systems in hazardous environments, adhering to relevant codes.
  • Willingness to obtain PE certification if required for domestic projects.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. A degree in Computer Engineering or similar may also be considered based on experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 8 years of experience in an industrial or technical setting is essential. Experience in the steel industry is advantageous.

Travel Requirements:

Travel may range from 10% to 25% annually, with potential increases based on project needs.

Note: Candidates must be eligible to work on a W2 basis.
