Responsibilities- Lead the Powertrain & Electronics production team, comprising highly skilled technicians and support staff.
- Oversee the production of all powertrain and electronic components, ensuring high-quality products are delivered on time.
- Establish clear goals and objectives for the team, ensuring all production commitments are met.
- Manage staffing, training, and development plans for team members, fostering a capable, productive, and engaged workforce.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance efficiency and performance within the team.
- Communicate clear expectations for project deliverables to the manufacturing team.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to increase production efficiency through Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- At least 5 years of experience in a production leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of powertrain and electronics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in electric motor and battery module assembly or complex electro-mechanical assembly processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Superior problem-solving and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for detail and providing constructive feedback to the team and other cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or at least 7 years of experience in EV powertrain production.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Joby Aviation offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $133,100 - $210,000 per year. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Joby also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with a company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and more.
