Job Overview
As a Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist with PLANIT Group, you will play a key role in supporting our team's mission by ensuring the stability and security of our IT infrastructure. Based in Rosslyn, VA, this on-site position requires daily presence and comes with opportunities for growth and development.

About the Role
This is not a help desk role; instead, you will focus on providing advanced support for servers, workstations, and other critical systems. Your expertise in VMWare, Active Directory, and network management will be instrumental in maintaining our infrastructure's integrity.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have at least 5 years of IT experience and hold an active Top Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain TS clearance. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is also required. Additionally, you should possess strong knowledge of Windows platforms, system administration, and endpoint configuration management.

Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks will involve reviewing risk scores, addressing compliance issues, and providing advanced support for problem escalation beyond the first tier of help desk. You will also interact with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development teams to restore service and identify core problems. Furthermore, you will simulate user problems, document procedures, and maintain manuals to ensure seamless operations.

Bonus Skills
While not mandatory, experience with VMware Vsphere, LAN/WAN networking, and troubleshooting virtual machines will make you stand out as a top candidate. We appreciate your passion for problem-solving, customer support, and continuous learning.

What You'll Need
In terms of education, we require a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Beyond that, we expect:

  • At least 5 years of IT experience
  • Active Top Secret clearance or eligibility for TS clearance
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification and/or ITIL v3 Foundation certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management and Active Directory account management
  • Strong knowledge of Windows platforms and system administration

Estimated Salary Range
$120,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits and bonuses.
