Job Title: Lead Firearms Instructor

GDIT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Firearms Instructor to join our team. As a Lead Firearms Instructor, you will be responsible for providing training and instruction to Federal Flight Deck Officers (FFDOs) on firearms safety and proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct firearms training and instruction to FFDOs
  • Verify weapons and credentials of FFDOs before training commences
  • Ensure proper scoring of targets and completion of administrative forms
  • Collect and maintain training data
  • Oversee time keeping of all Security Forces Instructor (SFI) labor hours
Requirements:
  • Current or former federal law enforcement agent, officer, or civilian employee with completed recognized federal firearm instructor training program
  • 5+ years of firearms training experience
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work/military experience
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to handle weapons and ammunition in the course of duties
