Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to maintain the financial records of our law firm, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate entry of invoices and creation of checks for payments.
  • Process deposits and allocate funds to the correct client cases.
  • Monitor trust funds for unallocated monies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process reimbursements for attorneys.
  • Void, create, approve, and issue checks as necessary.
  • Process reimbursements for attorneys and investigate suspected fraudulent charges.
  • Void, create, approve, and issue checks as necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Generate financial analyses and reports as requested by management to support decision-making processes.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation for audit purposes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in accounting or finance, particularly within a law firm or professional services environment, is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability to changing work environments and ability to handle unexpected events with professionalism.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion, with or without reasonable accommodations.
