We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specimen Collector to join our team at the University of Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to play a critical role in collecting quality specimens for laboratory analysis.

About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Specimen Collector, you will be responsible for performing blood drawing/collection using various techniques. You will also be required to enter data, document, and deliver samples while maintaining a high standard of customer service and workflow.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A high school graduate or equivalent is required, with 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Collecting quality specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Performing blood drawing/collection using various techniques
  • Entering data, documenting, and delivering samples
  • Maintaining a high standard of customer service and workflow
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred
Physical Demands

This role requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping, and climbing (ladder, steps). The ability to lift/push/pull and proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are essential.

Compensation and Benefits

Our estimated salary range for this position is $15.99 - $24.78 per hour. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
