The University of Virginia's Cancer Center Office of Clinical Research seeks a highly skilled Medical Research Coordinator to support various clinical trials. This role involves working with research participants, processing laboratory specimens, data entry, record keeping, and reviewing prospective research participants. The coordinator will also assist with clinical trial-related activities, recruit and screen potential study participants, schedule study visits, prepare and maintain study documentation, collect data at all study visits, and manage all collected data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants who meet the research criteria for multiple clinical trials in the Cancer Center.
  • Obtain informed consent from study participants and maintain telephone and in-person contact, notifying the Principal Investigator and supervisor of subject status.
  • Collect subject data, enter and analyze data, and compile reports, adhering to proper research protocols.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, graphs, and other materials, keeping appropriate logs and tracking participants, and preparing study materials.
  • Process, prepare, and ship laboratory specimens.
Applicant Requirements:

This position is open to varying levels of experience and licensure. We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000-$60,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. A Bachelor's degree is required, with some experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology preferred. For more experienced candidates, a Master's degree or higher may be substituted for one year of clinical research experience.
