Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory results.
Responsibilities
• Performs blood drawing/collection using various techniques.
• Enters data, documents, and delivers samples to the laboratory for analysis.
• Provides exceptional customer service, maintaining a high standard of care and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance procedures to ensure the highest standards are met.
• Performs area-specific support/clinical activities as required.
• In addition to the above responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
• High School Graduate or Equivalent required;
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred;
• Certification with a nationally recognized phlebotomy organization is preferred.
Working Conditions
This role requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending, and climbing. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are necessary, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull is also required.
