Job Summary

Corewell Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Unit 9 South team. As a RN, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, utilizing the framework of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients.

About the Unit

Our 32-bed medical unit cares for a wide variety of diagnoses and multiple chronic co-morbidities in patients with an age range. We have the capability to monitor 8 telemetry cardiac patients and offer our ACE (Acute Care of the Elderly) program, which helps to avoid complications for our patients 65+ so that they can return to their baseline function prior to their hospitalization and hopefully return to the home setting.

Scope of Work

The RN will utilize patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN will provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, according to Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelors in Nursing is required within 5 years.
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire.
  • Specialty Certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
