This role involves comprehensive field oversight of HNTB's contractual obligations, administration, and coordination on projects that are diverse and complex in nature.

You will monitor the activities of assigned personnel to ensure compliance with contractual standards. This position provides technical guidance for unique or complex assignments. You will review plans, specifications, and installation methods for feasibility and may suggest design modifications. You will represent projects in various meetings and conferences, typically managing projects with construction values up to $10M and playing a crucial role in larger project pursuits.

Key Responsibilities:


Lead the development of project scope and fee estimates while assisting in the creation of technical proposals and contracts following HNTB's Advanced Contracting Approach (ACA).

Coordinate project activities, set priorities, and assign staff to tasks. Prepare daily activity reports and monitor contractor progress against the approved schedule. Address technical field challenges and collaborate with Architects and Engineers to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries.

Oversee project controls, including verifying contractor management systems and coordinating timelines, while reviewing construction schedules.

Evaluate submittals for adherence to plans and specifications. Collaborate with contractors to develop submittal packages that meet scheduling demands.

Implement the firm's project delivery strategy using HNTB's Advanced Delivery Approach (ADA) on each project. Guide the creation and execution of the project management plan. Mentor team members to achieve overall project goals. Identify and address non-compliant work.

Provide interpretation and enforcement of contract documents and specifications. Work with contractors to ensure submittal packages align with schedule requirements.

Validate change order requests, develop cost estimates, negotiate expenses, and document change orders.

Ensure cost management on projects and maintain quality control within the discipline.


Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to support business development, foster client relationships, and engage in strategic project pursuits in line with HNTB's Advanced Sales Approach (ASA).

Work alongside the project team and marketing resources to prepare relevant proposal and presentation materials.

Lead proposal development and presentation efforts for strategic projects to clients, as well as general presentations within the industry and community.

You may also be responsible for the recruitment, training, and retention of construction personnel, including planning for staff reporting, performance evaluations, and succession planning.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.

All necessary jurisdictional certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering.

10 years of relevant experience.


Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III.
