Job Overview

The Senior Project Manager will oversee all phases of design-build and engineer-procure-construct projects. This role encompasses the management and administration of the primary contract, as well as the supervision of engineering, design, procurement, scheduling, and construction management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate integrated Design-Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams from project initiation to completion.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for intermediate and final engineering design and construction activities.
  • Administer and manage the primary contract, construction subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure adherence to customer objectives related to safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
  • Plan, execute, and report on overall project performance.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between the project and other jobsite activities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively address and resolve potential disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with project-specific health and safety plans as well as quality control and assurance protocols.
  • Supervise Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, while collaborating with Construction Managers and site safety representatives.
  • Oversee Requests for Information and conduct value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Develop procurement status reports and manage subcontractor and supplier scopes, pricing, and schedules.
  • Monitor project schedules and administer changes to the primary contract.
  • Prepare and present monthly progress, budget forecasting, and schedule management reports.
  • Conduct project close-out and warranty administration.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Construction Project Management, with a minimum of 5 years in direct DB/EPC projects within the power delivery sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, design, construction methodologies, and project management practices.

Skills:

  • Self-motivated with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and team-building skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in project management software, with a preference for Primavera P6.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time as project needs dictate.
