Position Overview

The Motorcycle Sales and Service Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting customers with their motorcycle needs. This position involves explaining the technical aspects of motorcycle repairs and the customization process through the addition of parts and accessories. The specialist will also support the installation team on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional and courteous customer service consistently.
  • Process sales orders and returns for parts and accessories, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Assist customers with inquiries regarding part fitment and identify necessary components for repairs or modifications.
  • Install aftermarket parts on motorcycles following purchase.
  • Respond to customer inquiries received through the technical support email.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of specifications, parts, and accessories available through our catalog and other vendors.
  • Ensure complete and accurate customer service and installation through follow-up work.
  • Stay updated on the latest parts, service updates, and accessories by reviewing industry publications and websites.
  • Utilize computer systems to access and update customer records for processing sales orders.
  • Promote Gold Club Memberships to customers.
  • Offer technical support and training to non-technical sales staff.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and sales staff on various projects and inquiries.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work scheduling.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in repairing Harley-Davidson and/or metric motorcycles is required. Previous retail experience is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Possession of a State Driver's License with a motorcycle endorsement is highly preferred.
  • Strong merchandising and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and sound technical advice.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and Outlook.
  • Willingness to work under a flexible schedule that may vary with seasonal demand, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to stand, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. The employee must frequently walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regular lifting of up to 20 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds is necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. A constant state of alertness and safe work practices is essential.
