Position Overview: This role is for an Assistant Coach who will be responsible for managing a sports program with integrity and professionalism. The individual will focus on teaching the sport, understanding its rules, promoting sportsmanship, and instilling core values within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and collaborate with the Head Coach.
  • Develop comprehensive practice plans.
  • Understand legal responsibilities and mitigate risks of negligence.
  • Oversee the proper care and maintenance of sports equipment.
  • Keep the Head Coach updated on players' physical conditions and overall welfare.
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in the sport.
  • Instruct participants on the fundamentals of the sport.
  • Adhere to equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
  • Engage in training programs to enhance skills relevant to the position.
  • Stay informed about current developments and literature related to coaching.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Follow all relevant federal, state, and organizational policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a standard high school diploma or an equivalent GED program.
  • Possess knowledge of the sport and the ability to effectively share this knowledge with participants.
  • Proficient computer skills as necessary for the role.

Physical Requirements: This position involves light work, requiring the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.

Employment Terms: Salary and benefits will align with the approved compensation plan of the District. The duration of the work year and hours of employment will be determined by the School Board.
