Job Summary:

This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for new hires to Kaiser Permanente. As a Staff Nurse Wound Care, you will provide nursing care to a defined group of patients, adhering to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington ambulatory Nursing Care Standards, the Nursing Code of Ethics, and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide and coordinate nursing care for patients in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Assess wound and ostomy patients and formulate a plan of care, including pre- and post-operative care, and to facilitate rehabilitation.
  • Devises and implements wound and ostomy care plans and pouching systems that provide for skin protection, healing, and patient comfort.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to peers, physicians, and leaders on complex clinical issues and most up-to-date evidence-based treatments for wound and ostomy care.
  • Develops and implements physical and psychological preventive measures to promote patient self-care responsibility for meeting their own health needs.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality assurance activities and adheres to KFHPW safety standards, infection control standards, and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
  • Communication, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ambulatory care nursing experience.
  • Primary nursing or case management experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Wound and Ostomy therapy nursing experience.
