About the Opportunity

Leidos, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and influence projects from their early stages.

Job Summary:

  • Direct multiple design teams in executing various projects and programs for multiple clients.
  • Develop and train a team of engineers through coaching and mentoring.
  • Supervise staff by approving timesheets and running annual performance review processes.
  • Participate as a member of the leadership team of the Transmission Line Section.
  • Create responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs from clients, including proposal creation and scope definition.
  • Possess a growth mindset to foster creative problem-solving for clients' complex issues.
  • Promote continuous improvement to develop streamlined processes and tools that facilitate technical resource development.
  • Delegate tasks to staff, forecast workload, and run recruiting activities to support aggressive growth goals.
  • Drive quality control process for execution teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Liaise with clients to maximize affinity, facilitate business development growth, and foster long-term relationship building.
  • Manage project portfolio health by proactive project management, tracking scope, schedules, and budget with Project Management Office support.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, with Civil Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission system design with a Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Outstanding communication skills as primary point of contact for existing and prospective clients.
  • Business acumen with a record of understanding and meeting key project performance metrics.
  • Onsite work in Leidos or client offices possible, with periodic travel required.
  • Able to develop staff through mentoring.

Salary Range:$89,700 - $162,150. Depending on experience and qualifications, this position can offer a competitive salary range reflecting market standards for similar roles.
