We are seeking an Electric Power Systems Engineer to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. This role is perfect for a motivated and experienced engineer who is passionate about designing and developing safe, reliable, and efficient electric power systems.

About the Role:

As an Electric Power Systems Engineer at Kiewit, you will be responsible for performing system expansion and improvement projects, system protection and coordination, reactive compensation, voltage analyses, distributed generation and renewable interconnections, power quality studies, and system contingency scenarios. You will also develop and maintain complex computer models of the electric delivery system, perform power flow studies using CYME or equivalent software, and prepare cost-effective system expansion plans using good engineering practices.

About the Job:

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, EIT with the ability to become registered PE, and 5+ years of applicable electric utility experience. The ideal candidate will have technical decision-making skills, good interpersonal skills, organization skills, and effective oral and written communication skills. A current knowledge of electric utility rules, technical, administrative, and regulatory requirements for reliable, safe operation of the system is essential. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform system expansion and improvement projects, system protection and coordination, reactive compensation, voltage analyses, distributed generation and renewable interconnections, power quality studies, and system contingency scenarios.
  2. Develop and maintain complex computer models of the electric delivery system.
  3. Perform power flow studies using CYME or equivalent software.
  4. Prepare cost-effective system expansion plans using good engineering practices.

About the Salary:

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $77,536 and $119,228, depending on experience and qualifications.
