Position Overview
We are currently seeking a qualified Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in manufacturing maintenance along with supervisory or managerial experience. A strong foundation in project management, strategic planning, and a commitment to continuous improvement is essential for this role. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Plant Production Manager and engage with upper management and various departments to drive initiatives such as cost efficiency, safety protocols, and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Manager in staffing, planning, scheduling, training, and supervising maintenance personnel to ensure optimal equipment efficiency.
- Provide leadership to Maintenance Technicians and Plant Electricians, fostering positive working relationships.
- Monitor and assess the performance of maintenance department employees.
- Support the training of maintenance technicians, guiding less experienced staff in their roles.
- Oversee the completion of work performed by team members in the maintenance department.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for maintenance staff.
- Manage the scheduling and supervision of maintenance tasks to minimize production disruptions.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance strategy for designated areas.
- Coordinate the installation of new equipment and facilities.
- Provide project management support within manufacturing operations.
- Oversee maintenance parts and material usage, ensuring proper inventory levels and initiating orders as necessary.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for equipment purchases.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of plant electrical systems and the ability to interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Create detailed wiring diagrams and mechanical sketches.
- Generate accurate reports on labor and maintenance material usage.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices while reporting any hazardous conditions.
Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Familiarity with various equipment and electronic systems, including motors, drives, and hydraulics.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct manufacturing maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong project management and strategic planning skills.
- Hands-on experience with preventative maintenance programs and safety systems.
