POSITION: IT Systems Specialist

LOCATION: Hybrid Work Environment

WORK SCHEDULE: 3 days in-office per week

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Direct Hire or Contract to Hire

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Server Management:

  • Accountable for the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of Windows servers.
  • Ensures optimal server performance through continuous monitoring, configuration, maintenance, and repair.
  • Implements and supervises server security protocols.
  • Oversees server backup processes and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Collaborates with software developers and IT personnel on server-related initiatives.

Network Administration:

  • Manages daily operations of computer networks, including hardware/software support and special projects.
  • Plans, designs, and executes data connectivity for local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
  • Assists in coordinating special projects related to network wiring, hardware/software procurement, and system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of internet fundamentals and operations (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.).

Security Management:

  • Develops and enforces network security policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the security of databases and data transfers both internally and externally.
  • Conducts risk assessments, audits, and system backups to safeguard data integrity.
  • Coordinates responses to network security incidents and vulnerabilities, implementing preventive measures to mitigate future risks.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support and guidance to users and IT staff.
  • Stays updated with emerging technologies and continuously enhances skills.
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently while adhering to strict timelines.
  • Offers on-call support for emergencies or scheduled maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related field.
  • Proficient in scripting commands, Windows operating systems, current technologies, enterprise backup and recovery methods, performance monitoring tools, active directories, and virtualization.
  • Experience in managing security infrastructure, including multifactor authentication, local desktop and server security, and corporate antivirus solutions. Familiarity with tools like OKTA, CyberArk, MobileIron, Arctic Wolf, DarkTrace, or equivalent Microsoft O365 offerings is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Office 365, including MS Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI administration.
  • Experience with Windows systems patching and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management.
  • Experience with network switching, routing, and WAN environments.
