Job Overview

MTS Systems is seeking a skilled Service Sales Specialist to join our team. As a Service Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for generating sales of MTS service contracts and other services within the assigned territory/region to achieve volume and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a customer contact plan to effectively pursue selling opportunities.
  • Use sales system techniques to discover client needs, decision-making processes, budget, and timing requirements.
  • Work with application engineering to develop custom solutions when standard solutions are not sufficient.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal staff to ensure timely and efficient order entry process.
  • Forecast opportunity closure dates and project monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales volumes.
  • Monitor expenses and maintain them within the annual budget.
  • Support marketing efforts by providing updates on competitive landscape and market trends.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Business/Engineering or AA(Vo-tech) degree in a technical field or equivalent military training.
  • 3 yrs of technical sales experience or applicable MTS experience.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work with high degree of personal discipline.
  • Problem-solving and analytical business skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically 50-70% of the time.
