Job Summary

MTS Systems is seeking a highly skilled Metrology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our calibration laboratory, you will be responsible for establishing measurement processes, providing technical oversight, and ensuring industry practices and metrology principles are taken into consideration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibrate measurement and test equipment (M&TE) and provide technical support to ensure high-quality calibrations and measurements.
  • Develop and maintain measurement uncertainty budgets and analysis, and create calibration report templates.
  • Lead in the development, validation, and implementation of new calibration processes, and evaluate opportunities for new calibration products or processes.
  • Assist in the selection of calibration equipment, design, construct, or coordinate the construction of special calibration equipment, fixtures, and processes.
  • Ensure and maintain measurement traceability, and develop measurement uncertainty budgets and analysis for calibration and measurement disciplines.
Requirements
  • AAS or technical degree or relative Military education, or equivalent technical program.
  • 10 years' calibration and metrology experience, with broad exposure to multiple measurement technologies, including physical, electrical, and dimensional.
  • Well-versed in ISO/IEC 17025, along with other recognized industry calibration practices, including relevant ASTM and or ISO Standards.
  • Working knowledge of PC's in a windows environment, with experience in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Displays competence in all phases of measurement traceability and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of metrology in a laboratory and/or on-site environment.
