Position Overview:
This role involves comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, as part of a collaborative healthcare team. The provider will operate within both inpatient and outpatient environments, ensuring seamless patient care continuity. Responsibilities also include serving as an educator and consultant to both staff and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, establish diagnoses, and develop treatment plans. Collaborate with attending physicians to order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide patient education for chronic illness management.
- Team Collaboration: Foster effective communication within the healthcare team and serve as a resource for team members. Engage with hospital staff through consultations and patient rounds, and contribute to program development alongside primary care teams.
- Research Participation: Involvement in research initiatives as opportunities arise, and act as a liaison with external agencies when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Required: Pulmonology experience if no prior experience as a licensed provider.
- ACLS-BLS Tier 2 certification required within 180 days of hire.
- Drug Enforcement Administration registration required upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work: Ability to lift up to 32 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently, in accordance with safety policies.
