Job Summary

Cortica is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Intervention Specialist to join its team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will provide direct behavior therapy services to individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend Cortica's orientation and complete the Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) training program.
  • Implement behavior-analytic services to children with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental differences in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Develop and implement positive behavior strategies as directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Work in various settings, including homes, communities, schools, and clinics, to provide direct behavior-analytic care to children and their families.
  • Document all interactions, including data collection and session notes.
  • Assist with individualized assessment procedures, including preference assessments and data collection.
  • Collaborate with families and supervisors to establish a supportive environment for treatment and education.
  • Follow Cortica's crisis and emergency procedures, including de-escalation strategies and mandated reporting.
  • Represent Cortica in a professional manner, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, preferably those with autism.
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field or related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board-Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) certification or willingness to obtain BCAT certification within 45 days.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and late afternoons.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in software and systems, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality.

The base direct pay range for this position is $20.57 to $27.60, with indirect pay at $16.85 per hour. Compensation will be based on relevant experience, education level, and location.
