Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our team in Katy, TX. The successful candidate will provide direct patient care, perform comprehensive nursing assessments, and implement physician orders within the perioperative nursing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure a Clean and Therapeutic Environment: Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients in the pre-operative, post-operative, and observation/inpatient areas.
  • Prepare Patients for Procedures: Admit patients to the unit, prepare them for scheduled procedures, and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Conduct Initial Assessments: Perform initial assessments to determine patient nursing needs, communicate additional discharge needs, and explain nursing procedures to reduce anxiety.
  • Monitor Patient Condition: Identify patient physical and mental status, monitor medical condition, and report significant changes to the admitting physician or anesthesiologist.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure surgical consent, pre-operative test results, and History and Physical are in the medical record prior to proposed procedures.
  • Communicate with Patients: Conduct pre-op and post-op calls to patients to ensure their needs are met.
Requirements
  • Education: College degree required; minimum of an Associate's Degree with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience in a peri-operative environment.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse in the State of Texas; License must remain active and unencumbered while employed.
  • Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Work Schedule
  • Monday-Friday: Variable days.
  • 8-hour Dayshift: Work a standard 8-hour dayshift schedule.
