Patient Care Technician

As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara Healthcare, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Under the direct supervision of a professional nurse, you will be responsible for providing support with patient admissions and discharges, as well as implementing delegated aspects of nursing care. Your primary duties will include observing patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, reporting any changes to the nursing team, and providing patient care under the direction of the professional nurse.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as basic life support certification. Additionally, you will need to have one year of healthcare experience, preferably as a PCT or nursing assistant. You will also need to be certified in CPR/AED and have a strong understanding of patient safety practices.
