Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular security patrols of hospital facilities and grounds to identify and report potential security threats.
  • Respond to emergency situations and incidents, including fires, medical emergencies, and security breaches.
  • Provide security support to hospital staff and patients, including escorting individuals to their vehicles and assisting with combative patients.
  • Enforce hospital policies and procedures, including those related to parking, lost and found items, and patient valuables.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to identify and address security concerns and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest security protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of armed security experience, or equivalent experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Active Level 3 Certification (Texas) required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Law enforcement experience.
  • Healthcare security experience.
  • IAHSS Basic Security Certification.
  • Verbal De-escalation training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

This role will be based in a hospital setting, with regular interactions with patients, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
