Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Physician to join our team at Western State Hospital (WSH) within the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA). As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide medical assessment and treatment in partnership with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Direct, review, and provide primary medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to patients
  • Prescribe necessary medication and perform admission and physical examinations, laboratory tests, evaluations
  • Provide preventative maintenance care, formulate treatment plans, and review medical histories, diagnostic tests, medication regimes, and clinical diagnostic procedures
  • Perform daily rounds, assess and treat the onset of new medical problems, and implement health prevention guidelines and coordinate referrals to team members as specialty consultants
  • Direct a multidisciplinary therapeutic and clinical approach to treat complex physical, psychological, and psychosocial conditions, perform minor surgical procedures, deliver emergency medical responses, and mortality and morbidity reviews
  • Share Physician on-call duties during the day and call duties after administrative hours and weekends
Requirements
  • Completion of 3-year residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice in an accredited training program, recognized by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Practice
  • Board Certified/qualified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Practice

We offer a competitive salary, 1.25 times regular pay when covering additional workloads, additional monthly pay for board certification, an excellent benefits package, and annual funding for continuing medical education. Relocation assistance is available, and we offer a range of benefits, including dependent care assistance, employee legal representation and/or indemnification, tuition reimbursement up to $25,000 for qualifying employees, and DSHS provided support staff and operating expenses.
