About the Position:

The Institutional Assessment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating and supporting the assessment and effectiveness initiatives of the institution. This encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to, assisting with annual assessments, program evaluations, assessment data management, and both internal and external reporting on assessment outcomes. The Coordinator also engages in assessment analysis and research and serves as the primary administrator and technical support expert for institutional assessment software platforms.

Responsibilities:

Annual Planning and Reporting: Collaborates with assessment council leaders to engage academic and administrative units in assessment activities; Ensures timely submission of annual assessment reports; Maintains a comprehensive repository for assessment documentation and prepares reports as necessary; Participates in a peer review process for assessment across units; Coordinates and facilitates assessment workshops and consultations. Program Review for Academic Programs: Aids in the administration of Academic Program Review surveys; Addresses data requests related to Academic Program Review; Facilitates academic program review processes to support institutional effectiveness objectives in collaboration with a team of assessment professionals. Assessment Data, Reporting, and Management Support: Provides data assistance for requests and dashboard creation; Prepares analytical reports on assessment findings for institutional leadership; Develops executive summaries, detailed reports, and visual representations of assessment results, offering insightful interpretations for ongoing improvement; Organizes and shares assessment projects and reports on the department's webpage to ensure stakeholders have access to valuable information; Supports various assessment initiatives and projects at both programmatic and institutional levels; Offers guidance to faculty and staff on utilizing the university's planning and reporting tools through consultations, training sessions, and workshops.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree or equivalent experience in assessment, higher education, or social science research (typically two or more years); Familiarity with student learning outcomes, assessment methodologies, and rubric development; Proficient in report writing and effectively communicating findings to diverse audiences; Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical capabilities; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to design and deliver workshops and training sessions on assessment-related topics; Attention to detail and strong organizational skills; Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting; and Skill in prioritizing and managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

A terminal degree in higher education, educational research, social science, or a research-oriented field, or equivalent experience; Significant experience in assessment, higher education, or social science research (typically three or more years); Proficiency in survey administration platforms (e.g., Qualtrics); Familiarity with assessment platforms (e.g., Nuventive, Tk20); Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, SQL); and Demonstrated knowledge of higher education data.
