About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiberglass Repair Specialist to join our team at Nautical Ventures. As a Fiberglass Service Expert, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and durability of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fiberglass Repair: Assess and repair fiberglass damage, including cracks, chips, and delamination, using appropriate tools, techniques, and materials.
  • Gelcoat Application: Apply gelcoat to repair areas to restore the cosmetic finish and color matching.
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for repair, including sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Structural Repairs: Perform structural repairs, including hull and deck reinforcements and core replacements, when necessary.
  • Detailing: Complete finishing touches, such as buffing, polishing, and waxing, to restore the product's appearance.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of fiberglass materials, resins, and tools, and order supplies as needed.
  • Documentation: Accurately document repair work, including materials used, labor hours, and customer information.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers regarding repair progress and provide guidance on maintenance and care.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification in fiberglass repair preferred).
  • Experience: Proven experience in fiberglass repair, preferably in a marine or automotive context.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of fiberglass materials, repair techniques, and gelcoat application.
  • Skills: Proficiency in the use of fiberglass repair tools and equipment.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and repair fiberglass issues.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Safety: Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in fiberglass repair.
  • Boating Experience: Boating or watercraft experience (preferred).
