Job Summary

Westland Resources is seeking a highly skilled Archaeology Field Director to lead our CRM projects in the American Southwest. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing archaeological field work, supervising field crews, and processing artifacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate archaeological field work, including field survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations.
  • Supervise field crews in recording artifacts, features, and other manifestations using Trimble GIS.
  • Process and catalog artifacts and other materials to lab specifications.
  • Complete record searches and write technical reports.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years supervisory experience in the American Southwest.
  • Previous experience writing technical archaeological reports.
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork in extreme temperatures, rough terrain, and high altitudes.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Southwest for extended periods.
