About the Role

The Acura of Avon team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Service Manager to oversee the operations of our auto service unit. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards, estimating collision repairs, and supervising the activities of automotive service technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the auto service unit, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Estimating and Repair: Estimate collision repairs and oversee the inspection of automobiles to identify faulty components and facilitate the repair process.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise the activities of automotive service technicians, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet customer needs.
  • Staff Management: Oversee the hiring and training of an effective auto service team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Financial Management: Maintain accurate records of all accounts and relevant financial information, ensuring that the department is operating within budget.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure that the necessary vehicle parts are available when needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all automotive service staff comply with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement of vehicle parts, automotive equipment, and other items required in the auto service department.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of automotive service staff, identifying areas for improvement and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Customer Service: Listen to customer concerns and assist in addressing their issues and resolving challenges.
  • Waste Management: Oversee the disposal of waste, such as used engine oil and soot, to ensure adherence to health and safety laws.
  • Work Scheduling: Assign and schedule work duties to auto service staff according to their skills and availability.
  • Customer Follow-up: Follow up with customers to obtain feedback and ensure that they are satisfied with the service received.
  • Professional Development: Attend workshops and study relevant publications to stay up-to-date with developments in the automotive service industry.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; 2 or 4 year college degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of automotive service experience required.
  • Skills: Experience with dealer management systems, excellent computer skills, excellent customer service skills, ability to be analytical, problem solve, and multitask.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, enthusiastic presence in a team environment, strong written and communication skills, consistent and stable work history.
  • License: Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
