Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving tooling issues by studying specifications, drawings, and data. They will inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality and set up machine tools to manufacture parts. Additionally, they will verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances, and design specialty tools based on product requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect parts and assemblies to determine dimensional and material characteristics
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to machine parts
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances to ensure accuracy
  • Design and develop specialty tools based on product design drawings
  • Fits and assembles parts for tools and dies, adhering to American SAE and Metric measurement standards

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with progressive dies, preferably with an accredited Journeyman's tool maker certificate. Strong experience with interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical information is essential. Proficiency with lathes and milling machinery, as well as experience with design techniques and repair of machines and tools, is also required.
