Service Center Manager Job Description

Vital Materials Co., Limited is seeking a highly skilled Service Center Manager to oversee the support and service of our vacuum coating systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate equipment repairs, installations, and upgrades to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring complete satisfaction and building strong relationships with clients.
  • Supervise and assist technicians in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, promoting a culture of quality and safety.
  • Manage the performance of start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract activities, adhering to local regulations, OSHA, and company safety practices.
  • Maintain and replenish equipment, tools, consumables, and supplies used for installation and repair, ensuring optimal service delivery.
  • Submit requests for resources and capital equipment required to achieve high-quality service, fast response times, and meet customer expectations.
  • Coordinate support from sub-system suppliers, including power supplies, vacuum pumps, end blocks, pressure measurement, and flow management devices.
  • Manage spare part inventory at the service center and coordinate replenishment orders for spare parts.
  • Serve as a company liaison with customers, providing technical guidance and support, and instructing clients in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Keep management informed of down situations, documenting, logging, and reporting activities as required.
  • Work overtime and/or travel on short notice, including unscheduled call-outs from home and other shifts as needed.
  • Prepare and conduct customer meetings, communicating professionally via email and telephone as needed.
  • Prepare and submit all required paperwork on a timely routine basis.
  • Maintain all safety records and inspections for the service center.
  • Travel domestically and internationally overnight, as needed, 20% of the time, possessing a valid passport.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, both domestically and internationally.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience installing/repairing vacuum coating equipment or similar equipment
  • Advanced electromechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of statistical process control
  • Knowledge of quality improvement process methods and terminology
  • Fluency in German with excellent oral and written communication skills, including diplomacy and tact
  • Advanced PC skills and experience with all Microsoft Office applications
