Fincantieri Marine Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman to join our team at our Marinette, Wisconsin location. As a key member of our production team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a crew of skilled trade personnel in the fabrication and assembly of ships.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee safety and security procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Implement organizational policies and goals, and measure performance to budget and support management in budget analysis and adherence.
- Assist in production control projects and manage work packs in accordance with production control plans.
- Plan overtime and schedule resources as required, and interface with management to revise project and facility objectives.
- Understand and work within the union contract requirements, and ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Directly supervise 1 to 30 employees, and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train employees, plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and address complaints and resolve problems.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of trade experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or shipbuilding environment
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience with computer systems such as EVMS, Baan, or a Time and Attendance system
- Strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
The work environment is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
