The Sterilization Equipment Specialist at Crouse Hospital is responsible for preparing and disinfecting specialized instruments and equipment for sterilization. This role involves operating and monitoring all sterilization equipment, as well as maintaining records indicating functionality of all sterilizers as required by law.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of Sterile Processing Technician program or two to three years recent work experience in sterile processing.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Certification as Sterile Processing/Distribution Technician or Instrument Processing Technician is required. If hired prior to receiving certification, employee must obtain within the first year of employment.
- Certification with the certifying agency must be maintained throughout employment at Crouse Hospital, re-certifying as required and in accordance with the certifying agency guidelines.
Special Skills and Equipment:
- Basic computer skills.
