Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. This role will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing educational programs for nursing staff, with a focus on supporting site-level and system initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement educational programs that reflect organizational vision and values, current healthcare trends, and specialty or department lines.
  • Utilize the educational design process to bridge knowledge, skills, and practice gaps identified through needs assessments.
  • Contribute to the professional development of others and support lifelong learning as individuals develop across practice settings.
  • Support the orientation process by developing, coordinating, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Assist with competency management, which includes using tools that capture objective and subjective data regarding an individual's knowledge base and actual performance.
Requirements
  • 3 years of NICU experience in Level III; strong Level II experience considered.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation and speaking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
