In the Inpatient Anesthesia Department, you will broaden your expertise by engaging in a diverse range of cases, including but not limited to:

  • Orthopedic
  • Vascular
  • Burns
  • Cardiothoracic
  • Neurology
  • ENT
  • General/Abdominal
  • Robotic
  • Gynecology

Additionally, you may encounter unique cases such as EP, IR, MRI, Burn Tank, Brachytherapy, and Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).


Your Role:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Anesthesiology Nurse Specialist will contribute significantly to patient care by administering anesthesia with a focus on safety and quality during inpatient procedures.


Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Mentoring Student Nurse Anesthetists and evaluating their progress.
  • Utilizing clinical judgment to develop effective patient care plans that consider co-morbidities and developmental stages.
  • Collaborating with the medical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
  • Documenting and maintaining patient records in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Demonstrating flexibility and punctuality in scheduling to provide timely care.
  • Exhibiting professionalism through teamwork and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
  • Contributing to resource conservation and cost containment efforts.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

The clinician operates under the regulatory guidelines from their respective licensing organization, with specific credentialing from the institution.


Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program, with a Master’s Degree or higher.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Current certification as a Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board.
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical competency within the scope of granted privileges.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse clinical teams.
