Position Summary

The MRI Imaging Specialist operates under the guidance of radiologists and the management team to capture diagnostic images for medical evaluation. Responsibilities include administering contrast agents for enhanced imaging, screening all individuals and items entering the MRI suite, and assisting with procedures as needed.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with weekend shifts, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Equipment Utilized

The MRI technologist will work with advanced imaging systems including Siemens Symphony 1.5T and Toshiba Titan 1.5T, with the upcoming addition of Siemens Magnetom Altea 1.5T.

Sign-On Bonus

Currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for qualified candidates.

Educational Requirements

Mandatory: Associate's degree in Radiologic Science or completion of an A.R.R.T. accredited program.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Science.

Essential Skills
  1. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, along with effective decision-making and patient care abilities.
  2. In-depth knowledge of anatomy, imaging techniques, and safety protocols related to radiation and MRI.
  3. Understanding of radiographic and MRI physics.
  4. Familiarity with medical terminology.
  5. Extensive knowledge of MRI safety practices to ensure a secure environment.
  6. Ability to assess images for evaluating techniques and positioning.
  7. Competence in patient positioning and equipment adjustment to achieve optimal imaging results.
  8. Proficiency in the safe operation of MRI machinery.
  9. Capability to innovate and adapt techniques to enhance departmental practices.
  10. Experience in venipuncture and administering contrast agents for imaging procedures.
  11. Skill in determining appropriate protocols for high-quality diagnostic imaging.
Licensure and Certification

Required: R.T. (R) ARRT, Texas License, and BLS CPR certification.
Preferred: R.T. (R) (MR) ARRT certification.

Experience

Required: Minimum of six months of experience in MRI.
Preferred: More than one year of experience in MRI.
