The University of Louisville Department of Medicine is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chief of its Division of Palliative Medicine. As a key member of the department, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the division's mission to enhance and improve the quality of life for individuals dealing with serious and life-limiting illness.
About the DivisionThe Division of Palliative Medicine is dedicated to providing patient-centered care to the community within a fully integrated academic healthcare system. Our interdisciplinary team, comprising physician faculty, nurse practitioners, nurse clinicians, chaplains, social workers, and psychologists, works together to deliver exceptional care. The division's education mission includes a well-established fellowship program and a palliative medicine clerkship, which is a required component of the UofL medical student curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the division's efforts to expand palliative medicine services and coordinate efforts with colleagues in pain medicine, ethics, and addiction medicine.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the division's mission and operations.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to integrate palliative medicine initiatives with other departmental programs.
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality patient care.
