The University of Louisville Department of Medicine is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chief of its Division of Palliative Medicine. As a key member of the department, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the division's mission to enhance and improve the quality of life for individuals dealing with serious and life-limiting illness.
About the DivisionThe Division of Palliative Medicine is dedicated to providing patient-centered care to the community within a fully integrated academic healthcare system. Our interdisciplinary team, comprising physician faculty, nurse practitioners, nurse clinicians, chaplains, social workers, and psychologists, works together to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the division's efforts to expand palliative medicine and coordinate efforts with colleagues in pain medicine, ethics, and addiction medicine.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the division's education mission, including the fellowship program and palliative medicine clerkship.
- Oversee the division's research program, focusing on inter-professional education in the palliative care setting.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to expand the department's mission and operations throughout the U of L network and its affiliates.
