The University of Louisville Department of Medicine is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chief of its Division of Palliative Medicine. As a key member of the U of L Physicians team, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of the division, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Division of Palliative Medicine: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the division's mission, vision, and goals, while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with pain medicine, ethics, and addiction medicine colleagues to coordinate efforts and expand palliative care services.
  • Education and Research: Oversee the division's education mission, including the fellowship program and palliative medicine clerkship, while supporting research initiatives and national grant funding.
  • Interdisciplinary Team Management: Lead and manage an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, nurse clinicians, chaplains, social workers, and psychologists.
