Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, including risk assessments, to identify inmates' needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-V criteria and provide individualized therapy sessions to address issues such as substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders.
  • Develop and implement crisis intervention plans to respond to mental health crises within the facility.
  • Collaborate with correctional staff, medical professionals, and external agencies to provide comprehensive care and support the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates into society.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all clinical interactions and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional policies.
  • Stay updated with current best practices in correctional mental health and provide training and support to correctional staff on mental health issues.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
  • Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), MFT, LPCC.
  • Experience in a correctional or forensic setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the DSM-V and mental health diagnoses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
