Job Summary:

The Assembly Technician is responsible for constructing parts and components according to specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure high-quality products.
  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Mechanical and technical skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength.
  • Safety management mindset.
  • Focus on quality control.
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
  • Color vision may be required if the company manufactures electrical and electronic products.
  • Ability to read and decipher schematics, blueprints and assembly instructions preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
