About the Role:

As a Senior Accountant at MKS Instruments, you will play a key role in helping the team accumulate financial information for external reporting and management decision-making. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the financial close, preparing quarterly SEC Filings, and recommending continuous improvement ideas. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days/week in our Andover, MA office.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including footnotes, MD&A, and XBRL requirements.
  • Prepare full sets of financial statements and schedules for earnings calls.
  • Research technical accounting issues, including accounting standards and document conclusions.
  • Support external and internal auditors for schedule requests and internal control testing.
  • Assist with the annual goodwill impairment analysis.
  • Other management projects and ad hoc reporting, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of experience, with some public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience and ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to research and analyze data drawn from multiple sources to find problems and make effective recommendations.
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and with all levels of management throughout the organization.
  • Public Accounting background or CPA required.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience/Knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise/HFM, Oracle/SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Prior experience working in an external financial reporting role a plus.
