We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect II to join our team at Birdon Pty Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing ship designs, integrating design solutions, and testing completed designs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop vessel concepts, preliminary and detail designs
- Perform weight estimating, resistance and powering estimates, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis
- Conduct sea testing and trials report writing and support
- Perform hand calculations and FEA on structural components/assemblies
- Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and contract terms, including ABS and regulatory standards
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hull form development, arrangements, resistance and propulsion, structural design, hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, vibrations, weight, or stability analysis
- Experience with government procurement and contracting, particularly reviewing requirements and performing specification traces
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
