Position Overview

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer role is essential for developing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive Software System and Integration Tests as outlined by the development team. This position will also contribute to the enhancement of a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) framework aimed at automating the testing and deployment of SES Government Solutions' innovative products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manually execute System Integration Tests as specified in project management tools. This includes new feature testing, regression testing, and other critical assessments.
  • Establish and refine a CI/CD environment to facilitate automated builds, testing, static analysis, and documentation for robust technology solutions.
  • Utilize software development tools such as GitLab, JIRA, and Confluence to support continuous deployment pipelines, comprehensive integration testing, and systems monitoring.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go, JavaScript) is advantageous for this role.
  • Preferred candidates will possess a strong understanding of networking concepts, including switching, routing, VLANs, and multimedia protocols.
  • Assemble, configure, and maintain technology across various platforms, demonstrating expertise in systems, data structures, and modern scripting languages.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and maintaining automated build scripts in a CI/CD environment, particularly using Bash or Python.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies and configuration management practices, with GitLab experience being a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing lab equipment configuration and maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional team.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold an unexpired green card, meeting the security standards set by the organization.

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience with GitLab, JIRA, X-ray, Confluence, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with operational environments on both Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Experience in automating software development processes.
  • Understanding of server virtualization, networking, and monitoring to ensure high availability of deployed systems.
  • Experience with quality management systems such as AS9100/ISO9000.
  • Multi-lingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Eastern European languages, are highly desired.
